Our Story So Far

In the early 1980s Rev E. S. McKeen (pictured to the left) came with his family from eastern Canada to Calgary to establish our church.  It was then called Bethel United Pentecostal Church, and originally started in the downtown area of Calgary then moved into the Northeast quadrant of the city.  Rev. McKeen passed on to be with the Lord in May 2019.  He was slated to come see the progress on our new location just weeks later.  The legacy of Brother McKeen is held in high regard by many people connected to United Pentecostal Church across Canada.

In July of 2007, Pastor Henry Poitras came to pastor Bethel.  Over the last few years the church has experienced a revival with now over 30 cultural backgrounds worshiping together, as a leading United Pentecostal Church in Alberta.

In 2012 the church moved from Airways Industrial Park to Marlborough Park.  In 2013 we decided to take on the title of “The Pentecostals of Calgary”.  In the Winter of 2019 we started the move to our totally renovated new home in the Airways Industrial area, close to Barlow and McKnight.

Our vision is to maintain one main church location, as a beachhead, with church happening in the West and South of Calgary too, and also in the surrounding towns.

We look forward to you joining us, and our together seeing this church miracle continue throughout Calgary and beyond.

A Multicultural Church

- Over 30 cultures represented so far.

By flags of Nations in place in our church sanctuary we celebrate the amount of countries of origin represented at The Pentecostals of Calgary - over 30 cultural backgrounds/flags raised so far.

We are excited about how God is drawing people from all kinds of backgrounds to build a multi-cultural Book of Acts community of faith here in Calgary.  We're wanting to connect with all 120 languages / countries of origin represented in Calgary.  We look forward to meeting you and adding your flag to this collection, if it is not already here.
